Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater Itinerary
Day 1 - Moshi CBD to Tarangire National Park
On Day 1, you will depart from Moshi CBD to Tarangire National Park. The park is famous for its majestic baobab trees and large herds of elephants. During your full-day game drive, you'll have the chance to spot a wide variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffalo, oryx, giraffes, and zebras. The Tarangire River is a focal point for wildlife, particularly during the dry season. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed amidst the park’s stunning landscapes. After the game drive, you will head back to your camp or lodge (In Karatu), where a delicious dinner awaits, allowing you to unwind after an exciting day.
Day 2 – Serengeti via NCAA
On Day 2, after breakfast at your accommodation in Karatu, you will drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCAA) on your way to Serengeti National Park. The drive through the NCAA offers stunning views of the landscape and may include a brief stop at the Ngorongoro Crater rim, offering magnificent vistas. You’ll pass through the conservation area, which is home to a variety of wildlife such as zebras, wildebeest, and buffalo. Upon reaching Serengeti, you will enjoy an afternoon game drive across the vast plains, which are home to iconic wildlife like lions, wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles. A picnic lunch will be provided during your game drive. Afterward, you will return to your accommodation in Serengeti for a delicious dinner and a restful night.
Day 3 & Day 4 - Central Serengeti
Day 3 and Day 4 will be spent exploring the heart of Serengeti, specifically the Seronera area, which is known for its rich wildlife and the Seronera River, a vital water source for many species. On these days, you can enjoy either a full-day game drive with a packed lunch or an early morning game drive followed by breakfast and an afternoon game drive. The Seronera area is famous for its abundant lion populations, and you will have ample opportunities to spot lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, and more. The region offers excellent game viewing year-round, and after each full day of exploration, you'll return to the lodge for a well-deserved dinner and relaxation.
Day 5 - Serengeti to NCAA
After breakfast, you will enjoy a few hours of game driving in the Serengeti, exploring the park's rich wildlife one last time. You will then depart from Serengeti and begin your transit to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey will take you through scenic landscapes, and as you approach the NCAA, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the area’s unique terrain. Upon arrival, you will check in and stay overnight in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, surrounded by its impressive natural beauty.
Day 6 - Ngorongoro Crater to Moshi CBD
On the final day of your safari, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. The crater is home to an impressive variety of wildlife, including the rare black rhino, lions, elephants, and hippos. You will also stop for a picnic lunch at the Hippo Pool, where you can observe the hippos in their natural habitat. After lunch, you’ll begin the ascent from the crater and drive back to Moshi CBD, reflecting on the incredible experiences of your safari. A 6D5N (6-day, 5-night) safari includes the following:
- Transportation: A private 4x4 vehicle with a driver/guide
