TPC Cycling Route

A relaxed guided ride along the quiet roads and tracks of the Tanganyika Planting Company (TPC) sugar estate near Moshi. The route runs through flat, green sugarcane countryside with palm and shade trees — an easy-going ride suited to cyclists who prefer gentle terrain and a slower pace.

Rau Forest Cycling & Nature Tour

A guided ride into Rau Forest, a green pocket of riverine forest close to Moshi. Cycle along forest paths beneath tall trees, with opportunities for birdwatching and a quiet nature experience on the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro. A gentle, nature-focused ride suited to riders comfortable on uneven forest tracks.

Forest tracks can be uneven and muddy after rain; suitable footwear and riding confidence are recommended.

West Kilimanjaro Day Ride

Transfer to the West Kilimanjaro riding area for a guided day ride across mostly flat but rugged terrain. The open landscapes are the draw — wide plains, big skies and the chance of wildlife sightings as you ride. A support 4WD carries equipment, with driver/ranger arrangements as specified in the confirmed package. A picnic lunch is included, followed by a return transfer.

Wildlife & views

Antelope, giraffe, zebra and other plains wildlife may be seen in the area. Sightings are never guaranteed — wildlife moves freely and conditions vary. Kilimanjaro views depend on weather and are not promised on every departure.

This is not a ride for every cyclist. Please discuss your bike-handling ability, fitness and the terrain with us before booking so we can confirm the right arrangement for you.

West Kilimanjaro: Two Days of Wildlife & Culture

A two-day supported ride combining the open plains of West Kilimanjaro with a cultural visit in the foothills. The programme below is an example itinerary; dates, group size and services are confirmed in your final quotation.

Day 1 — Plains to Kambi ya Tembo

Transfer towards West Kilimanjaro.

Begin the arranged ride in Enduimet Wildlife Management Area, entering at Ngasurai Gate.

Ride through open plains and Maasai country towards Kambi ya Tembo.

Lunch, dinner and overnight at Kambi ya Tembo, subject to confirmation and availability.

Day 2 — Foothills & Osiligilai Maasai Village

Ride through villages and cultivated foothills towards Osiligilai Maasai Village.

This day includes ascents, descents and varied terrain — a good level of fitness and bike-handling is needed.

Hosted cultural visit according to the confirmed programme.

Breakfast and lunch, followed by return transfer.

Elephants, giraffes and sunrise views are possible but never guaranteed.

This itinerary does not cross into Kenya.

Moshi Town Cycling

A guided ride through Moshi offers a closer look at markets, neighbourhoods and everyday life beneath Kilimanjaro. Stops can include local landmarks and refreshments, according to the agreed route. The ride takes approximately three hours; treat this as an estimate rather than a fixed duration.

Markets, food tasting and a coffee experience depend on the chosen programme; a plantation visit is not included on every town ride.

Moshi has traffic — please ride with traffic awareness and suitable riding ability.

A support vehicle is not included on the town ride unless specifically arranged.

Moshi Town & Rau Forest Cycling

A guided mountain-bike outing combining Moshi town, Rau Forest and selected walking stops. Explore forest scenery, the notable Mvule tree where accessible, rice-growing landscapes, local markets, coffee stops and local craft workshops according to the agreed route. Possible wildlife includes monkeys, birds and butterflies; sightings are not guaranteed. Kilimanjaro views depend on clear weather. The historic railway station may be included where access permits.
