How to Get to Tanzania
Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)
The most convenient gateway for a Kilimanjaro climb or Northern Circuit safari. JRO sits between Moshi and Arusha, roughly 45–60 minutes from our Moshi base. Direct international arrivals are limited, so most climbers connect through Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, Amsterdam or another hub. We arrange your meet-and-greet at JRO and the transfer to your Moshi hotel.
Nairobi (NBO), Kenya
Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi receives far more long-haul flights than JRO. Many guests fly into Nairobi, then connect to JRO on a short regional flight (about 1 hour) or cross by road via the Namanga border. A regional connection through Nairobi is often the most flexible way to reach Kilimanjaro from Europe, North America or Asia.
Dar es Salaam (DAR)
Julius Nyerere International Airport is Tanzania’s busiest gateway. From Dar es Salaam you can connect to JRO or Arusha by domestic flight, or travel to Zanzibar by air or ferry. DAR is a sensible entry point if your trip combines the mainland with a Zanzibar beach extension.
Zanzibar (ZNZ)
Abeid Amani Karume International Airport on Zanzibar receives direct regional flights and connections from the mainland. ZNZ works well as an entry or exit point when your itinerary finishes on the coast. From Zanzibar you can fly onward to JRO for a climb, or to Dar es Salaam and beyond.

Airport transfer
Meet-and-greet at JRO and transfer to your Moshi hotel. Driving time varies with traffic and road conditions, so we do not quote a fixed duration. Transfers are included where stated in your written quotation.
Pre- and post-climb nights
Standard packages include one hotel night before and one after the climb. Extra nights for rest, late flights or delayed luggage can be arranged — please discuss this with us in advance.
Delayed luggage
If your bags are delayed, arriving a day early gives time for them to catch up before the climb begins. We can help you track deliveries and arrange rental gear in town as a backup.
