What is the difference between a group climb and a private Kilimanjaro climb?

An open-group climb joins you with other climbers on a shared departure, capped at 15 participants, which lowers the per-person cost. A private climb is arranged just for your party, on the route and dates you choose. Both are run by our own Moshi-based guide team.

How many climbers are in an open-group climb?

Our open climbs are capped at 15 participants, so you keep the value of a group without losing the personal service Exuberant is known for.

What is included in the group climb price?

The trek price covers the arrangements set out on our Kilimanjaro Prices page. Crew tips of at least US$600 per participant are required in addition to the trek price. We confirm the full inclusions for your route and dates in your written quotation.

Can I book a private climb on any route and date?

Yes. A private climb can be arranged on any route and any date that suits you, subject to park availability. See our Kilimanjaro Prices page or plan your trip for a tailored quotation.

How are group departure dates confirmed?

We confirm open-group departure dates on request rather than publishing a fixed calendar, because groups form around real demand and route availability. Tell us your preferred route and approximate dates and we will match you to an available departure.

How far in advance should I book a group climb?

The driest and most popular climbing months are January–March and June–October. Booking 3–6 months ahead gives you the best choice of routes and group departures, especially around full-moon summit nights and peak holiday dates.

How group pricing works.

The applicable price depends on the confirmed route, duration and group size — a solo enquiry does not automatically qualify for the 5+ person rate. Open-group climbs are capped at 15 participants. Crew tips of at least

are required in addition to the trek price. See the full

How group climbs work

Small groups,

personal service.

Whether you join a group or book privately, you will never feel like just another booking number. Here is how an open-group climb comes together.

Confirmed departures

Dates issued

on request.

Rather than publishing a fixed departure calendar that may not match real demand, we confirm open-group departure dates on request. Groups form around route availability, the climbing season and the climbers who enquire — so the most reliable way to join a group is to tell us your preferred route and approximate dates.

Prefer your own party?
