Our Story

Being of Chagga ancestry, we are often asked by friends how best to travel in Kilimanjaro and where to visit. It came to our attention that there is a lack of online resources for the independent traveler and that many choose instead to join part of an organised tour or package holiday arranged by an international agent at unreasonable prices.

So this is our guide and travel planner for the independent traveler. It’s based on years of experience organizing adventure tours in the region, and of course putting together our own personal itineraries, which tourists rarely come across due to lack of local knowledge.

Our view of Kilimanjaro = Exuberant: full of energy, excitement, and cheerfulness - characterized by a vigorously imaginative artistic style - growing luxuriantly or profusely!

  • Small Party groups. A small-party group is the best way to enjoy our tours. We don't believe in creating large group adventure parties as it detracts from the experience. We strive to create the optimal conditions for a safe and successful tour. Keeping the group size small creates an intimate setting on the tour, but more importantly ensures proper attention for each and every participant.
  • Focus on Safety. Xuberant Kilimanjaro is focused on safety, understanding that is our top priority is to keep you out of harm's way. Our guides are equiped with the knowledge, skills and equipment to tacle any emergency.

An ample amount of clean water is provided so that adventures stay well hydrated throughout the tour. We also cater to all special dietary requirements.
  • Best Tours. Xuberant Kilimanjaro specializes on Kilimanjaro Region's best itineraries. With many tours to choose from, we avoid trails that are very monotonous, less scenic, and have poor profiles. We operate primarily on itineraries that offer a combination of high achievement rates, scenic beauty and low traffic. This ensures our clients have the best chance of reaching their adventure goals and have a good time doing it.
  • Group and Private tours. For those who are traveling alone or simply want the company of others, we have scheduled group adventures for all our itineraries. These adventures avoid the rainy seasons, and are limited to only 12 participants. We can also organize private tours for any itinerary, for any size party, on any dates.
  • Staff Welfare. We take staff welfare very seriously and do our best to ensure our staff is treated well. We comply with all established guidelines on staff wages and welfare. We pay our staff more than the standard compensation.

What makes us different:

  • All itineraries are hand picked and molded to suit the preferences of the adventurer.
